Thank You for An Abundant Year

Danette Miller, HTF’s Executive Director, shares a letter to our generous community reflecting on 2025, and what we accomplished together.

As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with profound gratitude and high hopes. This year marks 25 years of the Haitian Timoun Foundation walking alongside our partners and friends in Haiti, and what God has done through our community of congregation partners and individual investors continues to inspire us.

The past year was a powerful reminder that hope is not passive; it is participatory. We witnessed Maya and our Haitian partners living in this hope daily, and with courage and strength pressing forward even in times of uncertainty. Together with you, we did not stand at a distance. We stood alongside our partners, investing in the children, empowering women, and investing in Haiti's young leaders who will make Haiti a better country. With your faithful investment, trust in HTF, and belief in our Haitian brothers and sisters, hope became action. You are helping to build a future rooted in dignity, resilience, and a place where hope can flourish.

Together, we witnessed extraordinary moments of impact. During Hoops for Haiti, 6 partner congregations raised over $67,000, enabling Centre d'Education Integree (CEI) school to add 3 new classrooms, creating space to educate 75-100 additional students. The project was completed in December, and HTF was able to attend the dedication on Jan 26th. Mid-year, we were introduced to Sea Hope ministry and Skipper Buddy. This propelled our Nourish Haiti Now campaign to purchase rice, beans, peanut butter, and adult disposable diapers in the US and Puerto Rico, and send them to Haiti on the Sea Hope boat, piloted by Skipper Buddy and his crew. This helped meet immediate needs for Wings of Hope and Pazapa and provided a food distribution for over 100 families in Jacmel.

In December, the Chemen Lavi Miyò (CLM) cohort with 114 HTF-Sponsored families celebrated the completion of their incredible 18-month journey. We are proud of each of these courageous and determined women who have learned life skills, developed confidence, resiliency, and economic stability. They are on a path to a better life. Most importantly, their dignity is restored because you believe in them!

Wow, it has been a wonderful year at each of our partner schools! We are filled with excitement as we witnessed the incredible curiosity and tenacity of the students at every grade level. Can you believe that 100% of the 9th grade students at Lekol Sen Trinite (LST) completed their primary school academics and passed the country exam? Yes! The national average is approximately 75% passing. These students are ready to soar into high school. This achievement is a testimony to the work of the teachers and leaders at LST who are dedicated to each student's success, and we couldn't be more grateful for your child sponsorship to make this achievement possible. The Living Faith high school sponsorship program grew from 24 students to 30! Many of these students are the first in their families to attend high school, and some have come from extremely difficult living environments.

In addition, we celebrated the graduation of 3 HTF-Sponsored Haitian Education and Leadership Program (HELP) students! Their accomplishments are a beacon of hope lighting the path for a brighter, better future in Haiti. Together, we are paving the way for transformative change for these children and their families. We can't wait to see what the future holds!

To amplify these hope-filled stories and deepen connection with our partners and you, we welcomed Caitlin Snyder, a talented Communications and Marketing Lead to our team. She has been knocking it out of the park, helping to share the stories with joy and authenticity.

As we step into this new year and celebrate 25 years of impact, we do so boldly. I just returned from a visit to Haiti and witnessed our partners meeting extraordinary challenges with courage, determination, and strength. They need so much and yet continue to do their best to love, encourage, teach, and care for the children. Wings of Hope requires ongoing support for supplies, daily nourishment, and building maintenance. The need is great, but so is the opportunity. HTF has learned over the past two and a half decades that long-term, relationship-driven investment works. While it has been impossible to travel to Haiti until now, our partners never felt abandoned or alone. They know that HTF will ALWAYS stand with them and celebrate them.

Thank you for believing in this mission. Thank you for standing with our Haitian brothers and sisters, not just in moments of crisis, but for the long-term. Your partnership is writing stories of hope and dignity that will last for generations.
