We are incredibly proud that Ralph is the first recipient of the Barger Family HELP Scholarship! The Barger Family HELP Scholarship was created in 2024 to honor HTF's Founders, Rick and Harriet Barger, and their commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders in the United States, Haiti, and beyond.

In recent months, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians living in the United States has entered another season of uncertainty. Alongside this uncertainty comes misinformation and questions.  At the same time, Haiti is enduring one the most painful chapters in its history. For HTF this moment calls for clarity, compassion, and truth.

As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with profound gratitude and high hopes. This year marks 25 years of the Haitian Timoun Foundation walking alongside our partners and friends in Haiti, and what God has done through our community of congregation partners and individual investors continues to inspire us. 

Sixteen years ago today, Rev. Dr. Doug Hill had arrived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He, along with fourteen individuals from Haitian Timoun Foundation's community and Lutheran Seminary, traveled to Haiti that week; for some, this was their first visit to Haiti. What was planned to be an enriching immersion trip became an inciting moment in their lives and the life of HTF.

The holiday season gives our Haitian partners, especially those serving children and their families, opportunities to celebrate!
