Nourish Haiti Now
We’re nourishing the human spirit in Haiti, and at the end of July, we had the opportunity to distribute food and supplies that provided urgent relief to Haitians in Jacmel.
Nourishment Is Our Purpose
Our purpose as a movement is to nourish the human spirit in Haiti. We are committed to standing with the Haitian people regardless of the situation or crisis. Haiti has not held elections since 2016. The increase in political instability and the presence of gang violence throughout the country necessitated urgent relief this summer. Thanks to an unexpected partnership with SEA HOPE, we were able to maximize our impact to distribute food and materials to 135 individual families, our longtime partner Wings of Hope, and Living Faith students in Jacmel, Haiti.
Due to the generosity of our community, in a short period of time, we were able to raise $15,555, which provided the following:
8,100 pounds of rice
2,300 pounds of beans
7,800 adult diapers
125 pounds of peanut butter
School supplies for Living Faith students

An Unexpected Partnership
Much of our work is done through long-term partnerships, but sometimes opportunities present themselves that allow us to work with new individuals. In the spring, we got connected with SEA HOPE, a ministry that delivers supplies and manpower throughout the Caribbean to provide for physical needs. This presented us with the chance to purchase items that are expensive or hard to obtain in Jacmel, such as adult diapers, and have them delivered to the individuals whom we serve. We are grateful to Captain Buddy for his faithful service in connecting material goods with the people who need them most.
A Lifeline
Price increases, caused by inflation, political instability, and gang violence in Haiti, have caused our partners to reduce nutrition and supplies. School is out for the summer, and children are experiencing food insecurity. We are thrilled that we were able to distribute food to 135 families and the 34 residents at Wings of Hope. Additionally, Wings of Hope now has enough adult diapers for 7 months, which will prevent their staff from the dangerous travel to Port-au-Prince, the nearest place they can be purchased.
The items are a lifeline to individuals and families living in Jacmel, but they also provide encouragement and nourishment for the human spirit. They declare to our Haitian brothers and sisters that they are not forgotten, especially in a world where many people are looking away from Haiti because the needs seem too large. Together with our investors, HTF refuses to look away. We will continue to stand with our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
Fueled by Belief
As TJ Lynch, one of our board members shared, “In a world breaking apart at the seams, we - the HTF community - are stitching it together with love – pound by pound, backpack by backpack, person by person. That isn’t charity. That’s resurrection.” It isn’t pity that drives us to invest in Haiti, but belief.
We believe that Haiti’s best days are ahead of her and that as a community we can help our Haitian friends write a new story. Nourish Haiti Now is one part of what we can accomplish together.
