Joyeux Noel

The holiday season gives our Haitian partners, especially those serving children and their families, opportunities to celebrate! Life in Haiti can be difficult with political turmoil, scarcity and natural disasters that disrupt the fragile infrastructure. When the opportunity to celebrate presents itself, it’s important to pause and party. For many of the children and their families, these Christmas parties are a chance to gather together and eat a hearty meal that they may not otherwise receive.

an invitation to the neighborhood

To celebrate Christmas, Wings of Hope invited the neighborhood! Families with children and residents at Wings of Hope gathered together for the afternoon. Over 100 children were in attendance! The day was full of fellowship, laughter, games and food. Presents were distributed, games were played, the Wings nativity play was performed, and Santa even showed up!

Ending the Semester with JOY

The students and staff at Lekòl Sen Trinite gathered to celebrate Christmas and the end of their semester. As part of the celebrations, students performed songs and dancing. They also shared a special meal together before the students received their semester’s report cards.

Over the course of several hours, bodies, minds and souls were nourished, relationships were fostered and communities were strengthened. These moments to pause, reflect and connect during the Christmas season cultivate hope for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
