The National Leadership Team of the Haitian Timoun Foundation, a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity, is delighted to announce the appointment of Erin Murphy as its new Executive Director, effective September 1. Erin will be the organization’s first paid Executive Director, a position made possible by a grant designated for the sole purpose of creating this paid position. In her new role, Erin will lead strategy and work closely with HTF’s partners in Haiti, as well as the leadership team, to develop, multiply, and strengthen the resources of HTF – people, partners, and funding – to create hope, sustainability, and dignity for the children of Haiti.
Dr. Rick Barger, HTF’s Founder and Chair, says, “HTF is at a critical point. We are poised to truly step up to a new level in terms of serving the children of Haiti and working to ensure that all may have life. This becomes possible with a full-time, highly capable servant-leader who devotes all of her passion, energy, and skill to HTF. As executive director, Erin will raise the level of communications, pursue corporate support and grant awards, be a voice that can make the case before many differing audiences in a timely fashion, and provide the empowerment and tools our leadership team and congregations need to be highly effective.” Already HTF has been recognized as being one of the most highly effective grassroots movements in Haiti, and this appointment will only serve to strengthen HTF’s posture.
For the past two years, Erin has served as HTF’s Chief Financial Officer and as a member of the HTF National Leadership Team and has been involved with HTF at the local level since 2008. She brings more than 17 years of progressive experience across strategic planning and fiscal management to this role, including 14 years in healthcare finance. Most recently, Erin was the Manager for Financial Planning and Analysis for a $50 million healthcare revenue cycle management company, where she reported to the CEO and was responsible for internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, and providing decision and analytic support to senior management and the board of directors. She has a solid track record of developing innovative solutions to business analysis issues and translating financial data into actionable direction. More importantly, Erin brings a deep passion for the mission and vision of HTF and already has relationships with both our partners in Haiti and our HTF team of people across the country.
“I am excited to begin this next chapter of my journey with HTF,” says Erin. “As someone who has worked in a traditionally corporate environment for my entire career, being able to match my professional skills and gifts with my heart is a dream come true. I feel a strong sense of call to this role, and I am thrilled to be able to step up and serve as HTF’s first full-time Executive Director.”
Erin, along with other HTF champions, will travel to Haiti September 2-7 to visit with members in Fonkoze Bank’s Chemen Lavi Miyò program as well as to attend the launch ceremony for a new cohort of client families supported by HTF.
