Tetkole music program bringing life

A Unicef article published a few days ago discusses the power of music for children in Haiti:

“Music is fundamental for children and youth development,” explained Gilbert Buteau, UNICEF Youth and Adolescent Specialist in Haiti. “It is a channel of communication and expression – extremely important, especially for vulnerable children, who don’t have a family support. It is a way out for them.”

HTF Partner Tetkole started a music program in the summer of 2011 to help the children it serves learn another hobby and skill.  The band practices several days a week–sometimes for three hours at a time!  Band members are all very dedicated and eager to improve.  Many of the instruments were donated by HTF supporters.  Thank you for helping bring life to our Tetkole family through music!
